In case "Hironobu Sakaguchi" doesn't ring any bells, Sakaguchi has worked on multiple blockbuster RPG classics of old. Just a few titles are Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy. If this news doesn't excite iPhone gamers, I don't know what will!
With his recent announcement at the launch of 2010, Sakaguchi-san has made it clear that he and his current company "mistwalker" are behind a soon to be released project for the iPhone. Be it a spin off title of a previous franchise, a direct port, or a completely new IP, I personally can't wait to see what Sakaguchi has in the works.

Personally, IP and distribution rights aside, I can't understand why more classic ports haven't been made for iPhone yet. Sure I see an occassional Mega Man game, but c'mon people! Think of the potential! How amazing would it be to whip out your iPhone and get a quick 20 minutes into Final Fantasy. *Sigh* a nerd can dream can't he?
On that note, what game ports would you love to see on an iPhone or mobile device?

I really hope whatever his iPhone game is gets ported to the XBLA or something. I love Lost Odyssey enough to eat up anything this man whoarks out, but as long as it is within my budget - An iPhone is nowhere near that.
