In case you needed another awesome way to waste away hours, Square-Enix has just announced that two of Square’s most classic games are being remade and ported for the iPhone. Final Fantasy geeks have a right to get excited, as the games that started the whole series, Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II, are about to get a whole lot prettier and portable.

Though a solid release date hasn’t been announced, Square-Enix has posted screen shots via their website of the remade ports. While the core gameplay of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II will remain, the dated graphics, art, and music are getting an impressive makeover. Just take a look at these in-game pictures:

As somebody who was too young to appreciate the first Final Fantasy at its original release,I personally can’t wait for a chance to play these legendary games. 

Wow did somebody hear my earlier pleas? I was just whining/begging for some classic game ports for the iPhone in an earlier post...  Hmm…well if you developers ARE listening out there…Secret of Mana pleaaaaseeee??
